I'm writing this down so the next time surgery comes up I can remind my self of what happens.
So I have come to the conclusion that I have had my last surgery ever!! I had to have my Gallbladder out the first week of December. I do not have great veins in my hands or in my arm. So after 3 tries they finally got a vein to accept the IV. As always I tell my surgeon that I get extremely sick with surgery. They told me that even thought I have problems in the past I will still most likely experience the same issues. Surgery went fantastic (Thank you Dr. Price) but immediately after coming out of surgery I started throwing up. With the nurse yelling very nicely that I was sick and needed help I lost consciousness again. I woke up to the same thing and them changing my gown. After getting another dose of Phenegren (thank you for that medicine) and sleeping for an hour, was able to be moved from the PACU and into post op. So in post op the same thing kept happening on top of my blood pressure dropping. 3 beautiful hours later I got to go home even though they wanted me to stay a little longer, but Jon needed to get to the kids choir concert for Christmas. Oh the joys of being a mother. Kids come first. So needless to say...I never want to have surgery again.

Thanksgiving 2010
What a wonderful and delicious Thanksgiving. Lots of good food and fun. Jon has to work every year on Thanksgiving so we don't eat until later in the day, so we get the morning to look at all of the ads and figure out where we are going on BLACK FRIDAY!!
After dinner we always decorate gingerbread house. I don't know if more candy makes it in the mouths or on the houses but we all have a great time. Here we are decorating.

As you can tell we have a great time!
So our Friday starts really early in the morning to shop. My mom and I found GREAT deals this year, and I can say I am almost done shopping. Now I just have to wrap it all. Something easy to do after surgery this next week. After the shopping is done it is time for our annual Black Friday movie. This year we went and saw Tangled. What a great movie. You would thing that it would be a "girly" movie since it is a princess movie, but my boys enjoyed it and laughed a lot.
Last night we also went and found our Christmas tree. Last year we started the tradition of getting a real Christmas tree. It saved our lives last year. Long story short...we had a natural gas leak and I don't understand the logistics but the tree sucked up the natural gas so the air in our house was not as toxic. So needless to say I think we will be doing real trees for a while. Plus the smell is terrific!
Now onto the BYU-UTAH game. In our house we are a house divided. So since I'm blogging...GO BYU!

Updating!!
It has been a totally crazy 10 weeks. So this is going to be a short but sweet recap.
Here are a few pictures of our carved pumpkins. I must say, it is a lot of fun to carve our own pumpkins from our garden. They are hugh and we can do fun stuff on them.
When school started Colby was 3 weeks into Football. What a great season. We lost the first 5 games and thought is there any reason why we spent this much money to lose. Well we had some coaching changes and the boys learned it was a lot more fun to win then to lose. We ended the season being 5 and 1. So our team got the opportunity to go to the playoffs. We won our first game against Viewmont in overtime which sent us to the Championship game. Jon likes to call it the Super Bowl. In this game we went up against Alta which pretty much killed us at our last meeting. I must say our boys did a fantatic job in this game. We only lost by 6 points. The score 19 to 13. Well I can at least say they had a great year.
HALLOWEEN!
What a great halloween this year. It was cold and rainy but the kids had a great time. We had the Denos join us this year. We had mummy pizza's and worms for dinner and ended Halloween with my favorite wassle. So Ashlee decided that she wanted to be a vampire this year. When the boys found out Colton and Connor followed suit. So we had a family of vampires and a football player. I must say this was the year of easy costumes.

Ashlee with Mr. V |
Ashlee received Principal pride also this last month. Mr. Leeper gave her the award for being conscientious about keeping up on her assignments and also for volunteering for safety patrol. What an amazing accomplishment for her this year. She is staying up on things and having a great time in 6th grade. She also has an amazing teacher.
I can't believe that Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away and Christmas is a little over a month away. So between football, school, principal pride, my birthday, catering a wedding, Parent Teacher conferences, and I'm sure many more that I can't think of you are caught up on what is happening in the Atherley house.

My baby started school
I can't believe that this actually happened. Connor started Kindergarten today. He was so excited that I could only be happy for him. It's amazing to see the growth that he has had the last 2 years. When he started preschool 2 years ago his teacher had to take him out of my arms kicking and screaming.
Today was amazing!! Thanks Westland teachers. You are the best!!

Happy Independence Day!!
Yes you are reading that right. Today is my Independence Day. I fly the flag, go out to lunch and do pretty much nothing all day. It is the best day of the year for me.
On the first day of school I always make cinnamon rolls for breakfast. This is one thing that my kids never forget. It funny that they always remind me. I can't believe that this year I will have all of my kids in school. Plus for the added bonus they are all in the same school.
Connor's first day is next week. Bittersweet!!

Last fun day!
So we decided to do one last fun thing with our kids before they go back to school. We took the kids downtown to the Childrens Museum and then to play in the fountains at the Gateway. It was really nice that they had so much to do, that they did not complain once. They had a great time! What a nice way to end the summer.

Last camping trip of the year!
This last weekend we spend time in Nephi Canyon for our last camping trip of the year. Jon and Colby had to stay home because of Football, so it was just Ashlee, Colton, Connor and myself. What a great weekend we had. They had fun playing in the water, rolling down the hill and just running around. Thanks Holland's for letting us use the property again. It was wonderful!

Happy Birthday Colby!
Colby turned 9 this last weekend. He has been looking forward to his birthday since last year. Colby loves to be the center of attention. Birthday's are no exception. He is learning to love football and wants to be a linebacker. He was very excited about the gifts he received this year. Mom was just as excited as now she does not have to clothes shop for school. SCORE!! Happy Birthday bucko!!

Moon Lake
Every year we go to Moon Lake. This is such a great place. Swimming, Hiking, and just being with family. The stars are always so much brighter at night, except this year we had a full moon every night. This year was just beautiful. It was a little hot but no rain. That is amazing. In the 8 years we have been going it has rained every year. Just one more thing to be grateful for. The kids love to play at the beach. This year it looks like someone got stuck in the the sand and had to be dug out. My kids thought it was a great opportunity to have a sand/mud pit. I never thought that they would come clean. It is amazing to me the little things that make them happy!

Summer Time!!
So I was just counting...Only 7 more weeks of summer. Can you believe it! I can't! Summer time has been a lot of fun so far. It has mostly just been fun to relax and not worry about school stuff. As most of you know I have been the PTA president at my school the last 2 years. Well this was the last year. I am sad but also very excited about all of this extra time that I will have on my hands. I'm sure I will be able to fill it. HA HA!
I hope you all are having a wonderful summer! Enjoy it.

Colton is 7!!
I said this last month with Ashlee and Connor, but really I can't believe that Colton is 7. It just amazes me how time flies. Colton loves to play baseball and loves to help around the house. He has the funniest sense of humor that keeps me going everyday. Happy Birthday Buddy!!

Another year coming to an end!
Well last week was Connor's Preschool graduation and of course he was cute as ever, and this is the last full week of school. Where has the time gone. I swear that last week it was just March and now it is over. Well my last PTA meeting of the year is over. I'm a little relieved but also a little sad. It is wonderful to work with my board and also a staff at school that is so supportive and willing to drop everything to help me. Thanks to them and my family for all of their great support these last 2 years.

A new year!!
I know I haven't updated forever so here is a short update. Christmas was wonderful this year. It is always fun to share time with family and friends. We are starting a new year and even though it is January it never seems to slow down. The kids are constantly moving and doing exciting things at school and at home. There is never a quiet time.
